Google Ad Grants Account: New Simplified Process

Nonprofits play a vital role in our society, and online advertising can greatly help them achieve their goals. Google Ad Grants offers nonprofits a unique opportunity to access free advertising on Google. Traditionally, nonprofits had to use platforms such as Solidatech and TechSoup to obtain a Google Ad Grants account. However, since June 2023, thanks to a new collaboration between Percent and Google for Nonprofits, the process has been simplified and optimized. In this article, we will explain in detail the new process for obtaining a Google Ad Grants account through Percent, as well as the differences from the previous process.

What are Google Ad Grants?

Before diving into the details of the process, it's important to understand what Google Ad Grants is. It's a free online advertising program offered by Google to nonprofit organizations. Through Google Ad Grants, nonprofits can access free ads on Google Search, allowing them to reach a wider audience, promote their initiatives, and raise funds for their projects.

The Old Process via Solidatech and TechSoup

Previously, nonprofits interested in Google Ad Grants had to go through Solidatech and TechSoup to obtain an account. These platforms acted as intermediaries between nonprofits and Google, facilitating the registration and eligibility verification process. However, while these platforms were helpful, they could sometimes lead to delays of more than four weeks and administrative complications.

The new process through Percent has several key differences compared to the old process through Solidatech and TechSoup:

a. Simplification and speed:

Percent makes it easier to apply for a Google Ad Grants account. Nonprofits can apply directly to Google for Nonprofits, thus avoiding the additional steps related to Solidatech and TechSoup. This allows for faster processing of the request and reduces waiting times by more than 2-3 weeks.

b. A support service that responds in case of problems.

Key steps of the new process

1. Apply to Google for Nonprofits (5 min):

Interested associations fill out a reclassification form, indicating their name/RNA number, their cause and their contact details.
